Experienced Children's Social Worker

We are seeking an experienced social worker to join our team at Enfield Council, working with disabled children and their families. As a qualified social worker, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, managing care plans, and providing support to families affected by domestic abuse.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, knowledge of child development and social policy, and the ability to work in partnership with parents and carers. You will be part of a team focused on supporting and protecting children, young people, and families affected by domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct assessments and manage care plans for disabled children and their families
- Recommend service provision in line with Children Services threshold and eligibility criteria
- Manage, monitor, and review care plans, liaising with other workers and agencies
- Work in compliance with the Council's Financial and Children Services recording policies and use of management information systems
- Receive supervision from the immediate line manager and engage in professional development training
- Participate as part of a team, including duty system participation and attendance at relevant meetings
- Prepare reports and legal documents as required, representing Children Services in court when necessary
- Engage with contacts both internally and externally, including other council groups, health and statutory agencies, independent and voluntary organizations
- Possess a degree in Social Work (minimum Upper Second, if classified) or equivalent, with HPCP registration
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child development, relevant social policy, and key legislation, particularly in safeguarding
- Exhibit excellent spoken and written English, along with computer literacy for case recording and report production within strict deadlines
- Show strong communication skills in direct work with children and the ability to work in partnership with parents/carers, keeping children's needs paramount
- Have familiarity with diversity/equality principles and specific experience working in culturally/ethnically diverse localities
- Desirable: Familiarity with Attachment theories in relation to risk assessment and management and successful completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
- 5+ years of experience in social work
This is a full-time role, working 36 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends. You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and the families we support.
