Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Payroll Assistant to join our team at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective payroll service to internal and external customers.



Main Duties and Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be responsible for:



  • Processing payroll information into the ESR Payroll system, including timesheets, new starters, and third-party deductions;
  • Answering payroll queries that come through the Employee Service Centre (ESC);
  • Using judgment to make decisions based on existing processes and problem-solving payroll issues;
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the payroll process;
  • Achieving designated objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Being an effective team member and cooperating with colleagues to achieve common goals.

Salary and Benefits


We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a range of benefits, including annual leave, pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.



Working Environment


You will be based at our main hospital site, where you will have access to a range of facilities, including a staff restaurant, gym, and on-site parking.
