About Changing Lives

We are a nationwide charity dedicated to helping individuals facing challenging circumstances make positive change. Our mission is to provide a safe home, a rewarding job, and a life free from addiction or abuse. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to overcome their problems and live a successful, independent life.

Our services support thousands of people each year who are experiencing homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, unemployment, involvement with the criminal justice system, sexual exploitation, and domestic abuse. We focus on their strengths, potential, and opportunities to help them overcome their challenges.

About the Service - Criminal Justice Services

We deliver projects that support women involved in the criminal justice system. We believe that individuals become involved in the system for complex reasons and that addressing the underlying causes of crime is essential to helping them stop offending and rebuild their lives.

Our services are underpinned by an in-depth understanding of trauma and we support women to address challenges such as domestic abuse, homelessness, or poor housing. We help women develop tools to ensure that trauma in their past does not define the rest of their lives.

We currently deliver diversion from custody schemes, education, training, and employment services, and holistic services to women serving community sentences or following release from custody. We also provide pre-release services and have a presence across women's prisons nationally.

About the Job

This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in people's lives. We are seeking dynamic, highly motivated, and creative individuals to be Criminal Justice Engagement Workers. The role involves engaging and supporting people involved in the criminal justice sector who are experiencing substance and/or alcohol issues.

The Criminal Justice Engagement Worker will strengthen professional relationships with external organisations involved in supervision, care, and treatment, including courts, probation, and police. All interventions will be based on a trauma-informed, strength-based approach, delivering psycho-social interventions to support individuals in making positive changes to their lifestyle.

We value a diverse workforce and are keen to recruit people of all ages, backgrounds, genders, abilities, and ethnicity. This role involves agile working, including being office-based and providing outreach support within the community.
