About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Baxters Food Group. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our food products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Regular Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, and dispatch areas to assess compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Collaborate with Production Teams: Collaborate with production and manufacturing teams to address quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and optimize processes to meet quality standards.
  3. Implement HACCP Programs: Implement and maintain Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) programs to identify and control potential hazards in the food production process.
  4. Investigate Non-Conformances: Investigate and document instances of non-conformance or deviations from quality standards. Develop corrective and preventive action plans to address identified issues.
  5. Participate in Audits: Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  6. Ensure Staff Training: Ensure all staff are trained and competency assessed by means of induction, procedure training, routine refresher training, and briefings on corrective actions.
  7. Maintain Quality Records: Maintain detailed records of quality control tests, inspections, and findings. Ensure all documentation/reports produced while carrying out duties are accurate, legible, timely, and neatly presented.
  8. Collect and Maintain Samples: Ensure accurate routine collection of samples as per schedules (RM, finished products, hand swabs, environmental, water, etc.) and NPD laboratory sample collection and submission of these samples in laboratory portal.
  9. Conduct Daily Taste Panels: Carry out daily taste panels and provide feedback on the summary of findings to the wider team.
  10. Retention Sample Management: Collect and maintain the retention samples correctly to aid in the investigation.

Requirements:

  1. Passion for Food Safety: Passion for food safety and compliance maintenance.
  2. Organizational Skills: Organizational skills.

  4. Self-Starter: Self-starter.
  5. Proactive Engagement: Proactive engagement.
  6. Education: Educated to a degree in Food Science, Biological Science, Microbiology-related discipline.
  7. Experience: Exposure in BRC, GMP, HACCP, and internal auditing.
  8. Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or in a specific industry: Chilled Manufacturing experience, High-risk/High-care manufacturing environment exposure, Chilled ready-to-eat products manufacturing exposure.
  9. Team Player: A strong team player.
