About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Kidderminster. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support professionals to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring that students with SEMH needs are fully engaged and supported.
  • Manage challenging behavior and emotions, using positive behavior management techniques to promote a calm and respectful learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other Teaching Assistants, management, parents, and outside agencies to ensure that students receive the best possible support.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years' experience supporting children with SEMH needs.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
  • Minimum of two professional references checks.
  • Ability to adapt approach to meet the differing needs of each student in your class.
  • Positive disposition with a teamwork nature.
