Job Title: Enforcement Officer

At Torus Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Enforcement Officer to join our Safer Estates Team. As an Enforcement Officer, you will play a critical role in enforcing Torus housing policies on Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), Harassment, Hate Crime, and various tenancy breaches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Serious and Persistent ASB Cases: You will be responsible for managing serious and persistent ASB cases, stepping in when early intervention measures fail, and legal action becomes necessary to uphold tenancy conditions.
  • Provide Case Advice and Support: You will provide case advice, effective case management, and precise evidence gathering to support Neighbourhood Teams.
  • Identify Cases for Escalation: You will identify cases that need escalation for legal intervention to protect individuals and communities from the harmful effects of nuisance and ASB.
  • Work with Neighbourhood Officers: You will work collaboratively with Neighbourhood Officers to ensure a consistent approach and ensure that case referrals to the team are made in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and Serve Legal Documents: You will work with Neighbourhood Officers to prepare and serve legal documents, including Notices.
  • Undertake Case Work: You will undertake case work, including interviews, preparing witness statements, liaising with legal advisors, giving evidence at Court, and accurate and timely recording on the ASB case management system.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Legislation: You will understand the relevant legislation and legal remedies available to handle difficult and complex cases.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Level Education: You will have a GCSE level education, or equivalent, or demonstrable experience.
  • CIH Level 3 Qualification: You will have a CIH level 3 qualification, or willingness to complete.
  • Excellent IT Skills: You will have excellent IT skills, including knowledge of housing management related IT Systems.
  • Knowledge of Industry Best Practice: You will have up-to-date knowledge of national agenda and current policy issues in the housing sector and best practice in the field.
  • Extensive Knowledge of Legal Frameworks: You will have extensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant legal frameworks.
