
Financial Operations Assistant

At GET STAFFED ONLINE RECRUITMENT LIMITED, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Assistant to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper to play a crucial role in the finance department, supporting the financial operations of the company and its clients, whilst ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with financial regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in all elements of bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, payroll, and financial reporting. They will also be able to assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation and information.
We offer a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, and 25 days holiday, plus a day off for your birthday, in addition to bank holidays. There is free parking on site.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and update accurate financial records and documentation.
- Resolve and reconcile ledgers, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
- Accounts payable and receivable:
- Manage both accounts payable and receivable, processing payments and receipts, ensuring cost centres are appropriately allocated.
- Set up bank payments.
- Manage accounts' receivable credit control, ensuring timely receipts.
- Bank reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements with company accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Payroll:
- Manage new starters and leavers.
- Process weekly and monthly payroll, setting up payments and reporting to HMRC.
- Manage employee expense claims.
- Financial reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Update and maintain the fixed asset register.
- Generate reports for management, providing insights into financial performance and cash flow.
- Audit support:
- Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Hold Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification or equivalent.
- Educated to degree level in accounting, finance, business administration, or CIMA part-qualified or qualified.
- Minimum 3 years' experience within an accounting department.
- Strong expertise in all elements of bookkeeping.
- Proven experience in payroll processing and VAT compliance, familiarity with UK tax regulations and compliance.
- Rigorous grasp of accounting and tax principles, practices, and concepts.
- Exceptional numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fully licensed driver.
