About the Role
As a Process Safety Engineer, you will play a vital role in driving best practices in process safety across the site. You will be responsible for ensuring that our operations comply with safety regulations and continuously improving safety procedures, from risk assessments to technical coaching and training. Your work will focus on supporting our compliance with the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regulations and embedding a safety-first culture within the team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and conduct process safety risk assessments, including HazOps, BowTies, and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPAs).
  2. Provide expert advice on process safety standards and systems, using industry best practices.
  3. Coach and support manufacturing teams in risk analysis and safety management, ensuring adherence to the Management of Change (MoC) system.
  4. Deliver training programs related to process safety and COMAH compliance to both in-house and contract personnel.
  5. Participate in investigations of process safety incidents and support the development of preventive measures.
  6. Manage and develop key safety documentation, including safety case reports and databases.
  7. Serve as a point of contact for Functional Safety and Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) queries.
  8. Ensure compliance with COMAH regulations by updating and reviewing safety reports and coordinating site improvement plans.

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering. Ideally, you will have experience in operational environments and a clear understanding of process safety management. You should be passionate about safety, able to communicate complex technical information, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
