Job Title: Account Underwriter

At Travelers, we're committed to delivering exceptional service and responsiveness to our customers. As an Account Underwriter, you'll play a critical role in identifying, developing, and writing new business opportunities in accordance with your underwriting authority.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite and assess risk to maximize business growth and profitability for allocated broker panel.
  • Understand and execute Travelers' underwriting strategies and principles to produce budgeted results.
  • Manage book of business, maintaining quality of business, growth, and profit.
  • Accurately document and maintain underwriting information in account management systems.
  • Develop and leverage broker/client relationships through high-level visibility and disciplined sales management approach.
  • Collaborate with Distribution to develop, document, and execute sales plans, increasing marketing and sales activities outside the office.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues in other business units and regions to foster business development across Travelers.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in underwriting Property and Casualty classes of business.
  • General knowledge of the local insurance marketplace.
  • General knowledge of organizational and regulatory rules, policies, procedures, and effectively employs that knowledge in day-to-day work activities.
  • Demonstrates intermediate knowledge and ability in respect of Microsoft Office systems, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Full and valid driving license.
