Key Responsibilities:- Organisational Management:
- Develop and maintain a clear management structure to ensure effective communication and decision-making.
- Employ additional resources as required to meet project demands.
- Manage employee conflict and ensure a positive working environment.
- Information Management:
- Manage designers and provide direction for the design manager to ensure project requirements are met.
- Produce and monitor information required schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure the dissemination of information to relevant parties, including stakeholders and end-users.
- Understand the implications and value proposition of Building Information Modelling (BIM) within the organisation.
- Provide management information to the line manager to inform business decisions.
- Production:
- Ensure materials, plant, and sub-contractors are procured to meet project targets.
- Ensure appropriate quality is achieved on the project, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure that the works are undertaken in accordance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation, and the site Health Safety and Environmental Plans.
- Review Health & Safety and investigate incidents, providing summary and recommendations.
- Carry out periodic inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance.
- Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
- Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.
- Mitigate legal issues and defects liability for the business.
- Communicate effectively with contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
- Decide on solutions to major issues and challenges.
- Project Planning:
- Maintain and develop the overall strategy for the project to ensure successful delivery.
- Develop plans to achieve specific goals and objectives.
- Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedules.
- Monitor the progress of construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all sub-teams.
- Review project plans with the Contracts Manager on a monthly basis.
- Liaison with Client and End Users:
- Manage the aspirations of clients and end-users to ensure their needs are met.
- Resolve queries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop relationships for future winning work and business growth.
- Report on progress, problems, and information requirements to stakeholders.
- Administration:
- Ensure project documents are complete and up-to-date.
- Set up project systems and review to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Procure IT requirements to support project delivery.
