About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting the management of people with complex mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the west of Norfolk team, based in Kings Lynn, and provide clinical leadership and advice to the crisis pathway in the south and central areas of Norfolk.
  • Work closely with the Mental Health Liaison Services at acute hospitals county-wide, particularly the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and provide teaching and presentation skills.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • Entry on the GMC Register.
  • Approved clinician status.
  • Section 12(2) Approval under the Mental Health Act.
  • Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST.
  • 3 years or equivalent medical experience.
  • 6 months experience in relevant clinical area.
  • Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment and management of complex mental illness.
