About the Role

Mace is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead the delivery of MEP services on our projects. As a key member of our consult business, you will be responsible for managing the construction delivery of MEP services to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and safe outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the construction of MEP services, ensuring compliance with Mace standards and reporting to the project lead.
  • Accountable for the construction aspects of MEP services, including site environment, programme, health and safety, quality, and commissioning.
  • Liaise and coordinate with key project stakeholders, forming strong working relationships with clients, consultants, trade contractors, and other team leaders.
  • Manage the programme review process with trade specialists, checking for productivity, key issues, and trade-to-trade coordination.
  • Implement delivery strategies and programmes for all phases of the project, ensuring key milestones, interfaces, dependencies, logistics, and work sequencing are achieved.
  • Implement commissioning strategies in line with Mace Commissioning standards, inclusive of IST approach, ATPs, and Soft Landings.
  • Manage project close-out to ensure all elements of completion are delivered to a high standard, including commissioning, as-built drawings, and QA/Snagging.
  • Proactively identify risk and agree mitigation plans.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net-zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during delivery.
Requirements
  • Proficient knowledge of a technical trade (e.g., Building Services Engineering) including installation and testing methods, best practice, and prefabrication.
  • Basic knowledge of other technical trades, including installation techniques, prefabrication, and best practice.
  • Basic knowledge of construction build elements, including sequencing and dependencies.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial management to assist commercial teams with commercial control of packages.
  • Proficient knowledge of planning processes and management, including key construction release requirements, systems critical path, tasks/works scheduling, and commissioning activities.
  • Proficient knowledge of health, safety, and welfare core elements, including working from height, electrical safety, fire safety, logistics, and lifting.
  • Proficient knowledge of quality assurance processes and commissioning of single systems.
  • Basic knowledge of digital setting out and scanning technologies.
  • Proven track record in delivering projects in excess of £5m+ MEP value.
  • Experience in the relevant construction sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful projects/contribution.
  • Proficiency in building services or a specified engineering discipline.
  • Drives high standards and ensures consistency in our approach.
  • Effective stakeholder management.
  • Good communication skills - written, oral, and listening.
  • Innovative and adaptable; not fazed by challenges and open to new ways of working.
  • Collaborative and inclusive - harnesses the power of the collective for impact/progress.
