Job Overview

Aurora Energy Research is seeking a talented Data Analysis Scientist to join our Software Solutions team in Oxford, UK. In this role, you will work on developing and implementing innovative data science solutions using Generative AI.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled professional with expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and data visualization. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, experience working with complex data sets, and excellent Python programming skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing new use cases, designing prototypes, and implementing solutions to help Aurora employees and customers work more efficiently. You will also contribute to improving the Data Science team's workflow and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze new use cases and work with an experienced Data Scientist to design, prototype, and implement solutions.
  • Prepare new data sources and methods to evaluate the quality of our solutions.
  • Work closely with internal users to ensure our solutions meet their needs.
  • Contribute to continuously improving how the Data Science team works.
Requirements
  • Strong academic performance (First, 2:1 or similar) in a quantitative degree, with evidence of a year's formal study in machine learning.
  • Data science expertise in traditional machine learning, natural language processing, and data visualization.
  • The ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex quantitative data and information.
  • Experience of using Generative AI.
  • Evidence of good Python programming skills.
