About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and empathetic SEN Home Tutor to join our team at SMART Education Recruitment. As a Home Tutor, you will work closely with students in their own homes or residential settings, providing personalized support and guidance to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forge strong relationships with students and their families, building trust and rapport
  • Empower students to achieve their goals, one step at a time, by adapting learning plans to meet their individual needs
  • Collaborate with parents and other agencies to monitor and enhance student progress
  • Skillfully handle challenging situations with patience and empathy, creating a nurturing and positive learning environment
  • Provide comprehensive session reports to track student progress and guide students towards re-engagement with education

About the Student:

The student requiring home tuition has a diagnosis of Autism and requires a tutor with prior experience in supporting pupils with additional needs. The tutor should be able to confidently adapt learning lesson plans based on the student's interests, current developmental stage, and targets.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting students with SEN, particularly Autism
  • Ability to adapt learning plans to meet individual needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience and empathy when working with challenging situations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
