Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker to join our Fostering Team at Herefordshire Council. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting assessments of prospective foster carers, providing ongoing supervision and support to approved carers, and promoting stability and positive experiences for children in foster care.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of prospective foster carers to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to foster carers to help them provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in care.
  • Work collaboratively with foster carers, children, and multi-agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children in care.
  • Ensure that all aspects of fostering are carried out in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.

Requirements and Expectations:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a qualified Social Worker.
  • Current Social Care England registration.
  • A strong understanding of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and care planning.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills.
