About the Job

We are looking for a skilled Senior Maintenance Technician to join our team at Wright Staff in Newport. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The estimated salary for this role is £43,000 per annum.

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out facilities, continuous improvement, and maintenance activities at our local site. You will ensure that all services supplied comply with all manufacturers', health and safety, legal, and regulatory requirements.

You will also be responsible for promoting the use of best-practice maintenance system tools and techniques, ensuring they are applied in a safe and effective way.

This is a full-time position with a double day shift plus 20% shift premium.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of two years' experience in a similar position and hold a relevant qualification such as a HNC/HND in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

You will also need to have experience in PLC and Pneumatics control and be able to design and modify software.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • To promote and ensure a safe and healthy working environment for employees.
  • To provide and oversee the maintenance/repair/routine service of the site's processes, services, and equipment.
  • To ensure all maintenance/service complies with all legal, regulatory, and health and safety requirements.
  • To support the production team in the application of TPM and PPM activities.
  • To ensure all paperwork completed in line with the maintenance process/system is accurate and legible.
  • Time served HNC/HND (Mechanical and Electrical) with practical engineering supervision (minimum 2 years) desirable in a manufacturing environment packaging/FMCG/automotive.
  • PLC and Pneumatics control experience essential - ability to design/modify/build software.
  • Practical approach to modern problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH H&S qualifications and wide practical experience are desirable.
