Financial Reporting Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the standardization of central finance processes in all aspects of Fixed and Lease Assets across the UK business.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the wider Babcock Finance team to develop and implement best practices for Fixed and Lease Asset accounting.
- Support the Finance Manager (Fixed and Lease Assets) in playing a coordination and support role with colleagues in France, Canada, and Australia relating to aircraft assets.
- Administer the Group's IFRS 16 BPC tool and associated accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage fixed and leased asset registers to ensure correct accounting treatment of additions, disposal, and depreciation policy.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience of working within a Finance function, ideally in a complex international business environment.
- Experience of reviewing and improving finance processes with a fresh perspective.
- Commercial awareness with a good understanding of the business environment, including customers, competitors, etc.
- Experience with Finance IT applications, such as SAP, NAV, IFS, BPC, and Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Ideal candidate will possess working knowledge of Fixed and Lease accounting and/or IFRS 16.
Qualifications
- You must hold or be working towards a recognized accounting qualification, such as ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS, or AAT.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
