About the Role

At Barclays, we're seeking a highly skilled Strategic Data Analyst to join our technology team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in collaborating with business teams to identify and define use-cases for our new Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data hub, with a significant focus on leveraging General Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technologies.

As a Strategic Data Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those requirements. You'll need to have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business teams to identify and define use-cases for our ESG data hub
  • Leverage GenAI technologies to drive innovation and improve decision-making
  • Analyse complex data sets to identify trends and insights
  • Develop and implement data visualisation tools to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably with exposure to AI or data analytics projects
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Python programming language and data science relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib)
  • Familiarity with General Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) concepts, technologies, and applications

You'll also need to be able to manage change projects within the organisation, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and to the required quality standards.
