We are seeking an experienced Democratic Governance Officer to join our dynamic team in North Norfolk. As a key member of our team, you will provide procedural advice and support to the Council's decision-making bodies, ensuring the successful implementation of our goals and targets.

Salary: £32,076 – £35,745 per annum

This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced, political environment. You will use your judgment and experience to provide sound advice to Members, as well as develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems.

About the Role:

  • Provide procedural advice and support to the Council's decision-making bodies
  • Work closely with the Council's Senior Management Team and Elected Members to shape and ensure the success of North Norfolk District Council
  • Use your judgment and experience to provide sound advice to Members
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems
  • Work effectively across teams, the council, stakeholders, and communities
  • Develop, capture, and share learning

Key Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A fresh thinking and enthusiastic approach to providing a high-quality governance role
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, political environment
  • Judgment and experience of dealing with Members
  • Creativity in seeking out possible solutions to challenging problems
  • The ability to lead in developing work programmes and drafting reports on key topics
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
