About Our Job

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Psychologist to join our Secondary Care Mental Health Treatment Requirement Team in Stafford, Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT).

This role involves working closely with community mental health, probation services, and NHS England commissioners to implement policies and propose service developments to expand the service.

  • Developing and implementing treatment plans to support individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems who present a serious risk of harm to others.
The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A postgraduate doctoral level training in applied psychology or equivalent accreditation by the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and eligible for chartered status with the BPS
  • Additional postgraduate level training in at least one psychological therapy e.g. CBT, CAT

With substantial experience of working as a qualified psychologist, you will have high-level skills in providing liaison, consultation, and clinical supervision to professional and non-professional colleagues in health and non-health settings.
