Production Technician Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Technician to join their team. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of automotive mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in the automotive assembly and production area to achieve dynamic production targets.
  • Assemble automotive mechanisms according to written work instructions and OGS software.
  • Pick build kits in line with the bill of materials.
  • Complete End of Line testing to ensure Right First Time.
  • Conduct quality inspections of your own work and the work of others in accordance with processes and standards.
  • Read and understand written work instructions.
  • Prepare parts for shipping, including cleaning of final assemblies.
  • Update production paperwork.
  • Maintain health and safety standards at all times.
  • Continuously clean and tidy work areas and equipment.
  • Work as a team player to achieve customer quality.
  • Support stock control by alerting when inventory drops below set levels.
  • Adept and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
  • Follow all departmental general procedures and procedures for this position as indicated in the Level II Procedure manual.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to use hand tools and follow work instructions to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Attention to detail and ability to self-inspect work to ensure quality defects are mitigated and a continual pursuit of perfection.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and operate End of Line quality test equipment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and desire for personal development.
  • Proactive approach to work, eye for detail, and a big focus on Quality.
  • Punctual and flexible approach to work hours to meet customer demand.
  • Strong team player with self-motivation and ability to take direction well.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
