Job Title: Network Engineer - Data Centre Specialist

Job Summary:
Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in the UK. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high availability data centre networks supporting critical workloads on Windows, Linux, and SAN. You will work closely with our delivery teams to implement modern, highly available, scalable networks using a range of new and emerging technologies including automation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement low-level solution designs as part of the delivery team
  • Work with delivery teams to implement modern, highly available, scalable networks using a range of new and emerging technologies including automation
  • Input into network management and acceptance aspects including setting standards and providing technical expertise to Leidos programme teams
  • Utilise the concepts and principles of verification and validation to deliver relevant network designs
  • Collaborate with customers on all aspects of network management including the assurance and integration of infrastructure services to meet the needs of multiple lines of business
  • Recognise and exploit business opportunities by leveraging architecture and design best practice
  • Communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context

Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of data centre and campus networking technologies: Cisco (routing, switching, firewalls), Palo Alto (Next Gen firewalls), F5 (global and local load balancing), encryption
  • Strong understanding of routing protocols (static and dynamic) in data centre, campus and wide area networks
  • Strong experience of operating high availability data centre networks supporting critical workloads on Windows, Linux and SAN including technical refresh of large numbers of devices
  • Strong experience of monitoring and management tooling including Solarwinds, FMC, Panorama
  • Good general knowledge of Windows Server Environments, (including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO) and Linux (RHEL) data centre server infrastructures
  • Good general knowledge of Microsoft Stack technologies such as MS SQL, MS System Centre
  • Excellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer
  • Knowledge and experience of working in Agile and or Scaled Agile delivery teams where secure by design is the approach to delivery
