Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Seqens. The successful candidate will be responsible for expediting I, C & E maintenance activities at our sites safely and efficiently.
Main Responsibilities
- Expedite ICE activities, planned and reactive, at either site, as directed, to ensure facilities are maintained in compliance with company processes and EH&S, design and maintenance standards.
- Supervise & assist maintenance team members, support staff and contractors in day-to-day maintenance activities on site (including Haz Area inspection and testing, isolation of power sources, etc.).
- Provide technical & troubleshooting support to company personnel in electrical matters, including breakdowns.
- Assist with the development, implementation & review of site-wide maintenance programmes & procedures.
- Maintain knowledge & competency in electrical Standards & best practice.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the maintenance operation.
- Assist with planning and management of electrical elements of maintenance turnarounds.
- Assist with the control and coordination of spare parts and the optimisation of stock levels.
- Ensure appropriate maintenance records are kept up to date to facilitate data analysis for reliability improvements; CMMS, Hazardous Area Inspection, Fixed Wiring, earth continuity, etc. reports to be completed on a timely basis , data checked for accuracy and updated as appropriate.
- Participate in improvement and review initiatives as required e.g. E&I Compliance Team, incident investigations & hazard reviews.
- Prepare technical reports as required.
- Comply with safe work systems and maintenance procedures.
- Participate conscientiously as a team member in department call-out rota, sharing duties and responding to call-outs as & when applicable.
Requirements
- Ideal candidate would have 3+ years relevant experience in a maintenance role on a COMAH upper tier chemical manufacturing plant.
- As a minimum, the successful candidate should have a recognized apprenticeship or electrical qualification.
- CompEx training and qualification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge & understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices & working knowledge of I&C systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (e.g. loop diagrams & P&IDs).
- Needs to be conversant with Health and Safety issues and Codes of Practice relevant to the industry including COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, DSEAR, CompEx, BS7671 & IEC61511.
- Experience in inspection and repair of rotating equipment.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and have full UK driving license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivated with a good team ethic.
