Job Description

Therapeutic Residential Team Leader

At North Lakes Children's Services, we strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment for our young people. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Team Leader to join our team.

This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about therapeutic residential care and is committed to delivering high-quality support to our young people.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to staff members, ensuring they have the necessary tools to excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Manager to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and provide cover when needed.
  • Conduct regular supervisions and support key workers to enhance their skills and confidence.
  • Manage finances for activities and daily needs of the children.
  • Oversee the daily well-being of our young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Monitor staff performance to ensure they are meeting their duties and provide constructive feedback where necessary.
  • Participate in rostered sleep-in duties as required.
  • Develop personalized programs to enhance the progress and interaction of our young people.

Your Key Attributes:

  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to make informed therapeutic interventions.
  • Experience in therapeutic interventions and as a key worker, with a passion for delivering high-quality support.
  • Able to deputize for the Registered Manager during holidays and absences.
  • A compassionate and approachable leadership style, with the ability to inspire and motivate the team.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff and young people.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development, with a willingness to acquire new skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a small team, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check at enhanced level, if successful for the position.
  • Experience in Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is highly desirable.
  • Hold a full, clean UK driving license and be willing to cover other Residential Homes as needed.
