Job Title: Senior Pharmacy Technician for Medicines Management



This role is based at Barnet Hospital, part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Pharmacy Technician to take on this challenging post. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of working effectively with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and other healthcare professionals.



The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Medicines Management services at ward level, supporting the ward pharmacists with medicines reconciliation and patient assessment. This will involve working closely with the Pharmacy Technician Specialist (Medicines Management) to develop and maintain the medicines management service at ward level.



The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring that all documentation and procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and guidelines. This will include supporting medicines optimisation at ward level, assessing patients own drugs, and providing original pack dispensing and patient counselling.



The ideal candidate will have a BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences and NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3 or equivalent, current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician, and significant post qualification hospital pharmacy experience. They will also be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
