Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils requiring additional support, helping to foster their academic, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist teachers in implementing IEPs (Individual Education Plans).
  • Foster positive behaviour and social skills.
  • Help monitor and report student progress.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO to ensure pupils' needs are met.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a similar SEN support role is preferred.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication skills, with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to adapt learning resources to cater for diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
