We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Safety Officer - Buildings and Fire to join our team at Mitchell Page (UK)

Role Overview

  • This is a temporary position with potential for extension, offering a competitive hourly rate.

About Our Client

Lancashire-based local authority providing housing services for approximately 6000 tenants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough fire risk assessments and building surveys for Council homes, ensuring timely completion and high-quality outcomes.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with various stakeholders concerning the Fire Safety work programme for Council homes.
  • Ensure accurate allocation and updating of fire safety tasks and records.
  • Work closely with colleagues to identify and implement effective technical solutions for fire safety works.
  • Develop comprehensive fire safety project specifications, including site measurements and tender documentation.
  • Select and manage qualified contractors, arrange pre-contract meetings, and verify contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Possess relevant academic or professional qualifications, e.g., BTEC HNC or degree in building surveying or construction.
  • Holding a NEBOSH Fire Safety Management Certificate Level 3.
  • Proven experience in fire safety maintenance within Social Housing.
  • Familiarity with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
