Your New Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operational and financial performance of the charity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and develop the operational and financial performance of Helping Hands.
  2. Support the charity's business and strategic planning.
  3. Oversee business and commercial functions, including finance, HR, and compliance.
  4. Liaise with key stakeholders regarding budgets and strategic financial decisions.
  5. Manage financial processes, including reconciliation, bookkeeping, year-end reporting, and payroll.
  6. Ensure the charity complies with all statutory, professional, and legal requirements.
  7. Line manage key roles within the charity.
  8. Manage key systems, including Breathe HR, Timetastic, and Xero.
  9. Work with key stakeholders to execute a grant strategy and ensure grants are spent and reported on in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Educated to a good standard, including Maths and English grade C/4 or above.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ideal working knowledge of Xero or other accounting platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with HR software or CRM systems is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a similar operational role.
  • Able to delegate and manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
  • Able to work at pace and have resilience.
  • Sympathy and support for the Christian ethos of the charity.
