Job Title: North Sea Crude Oil Trader

Phillips 66 is seeking a skilled North Sea Crude Oil Trader to join our Global Crude Trading team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and delivering value for our refining system by optimizing the supply of advantaged crude oil in the Atlantic basin region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with other Global Sweet Crude traders to optimize P66 refining assets through purchases and sales of advantaged crude oil.
  • Collaborate with the crude oil operations team to address any cargo operational issues.
  • Liaise with the derivatives team to ensure accurate hedging of supply cargos.
  • Monitor cargo B/L dates and adjust hedging requirements accordingly.
  • Drive market fundamental view and information flow across the Global Sweet Trading Team.
  • Liaise with other departments such as risk, contracts, finance and IT to support the growth of Global Crude Trading.
Requirements:
  • P66 Trader Assessment program or industry equivalent.
  • Market Analysis, Operations and position keeping experience preferred.
  • Hold the legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions or meet the criteria for employer sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role with a proven track record of earnings.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to deal with stress and an extremely hectic working environment.
  • Basic understanding of refinery operations.
  • Creativity and ability to liaise with different individuals with different styles effectively.
  • Working knowledge of Platts Europe Crude Pricing Mechanism.
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Financial, economic and statistical analysis and/or modeling experience.
  • Outstanding MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of macroeconomic business environment drivers.
  • Strong commercial acumen; quick thinker.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong desire for personal learning and sharing of skills with others; team player.

Phillips 66 has significant marketing operations in Europe, with a strong presence in the UK. Our business is primarily wholesale, selling fuels to distributors and resellers. We also supply a network of approximately 330 independently owned petrol forecourts, all of which are branded JET. Our other markets served include aviation, marine and LPG.
