About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Site Manager to join our team at Wakefield Council. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for the upkeep and smooth running of our premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our buildings, including security, cleaning, and repairs
- Support the Business Manager in ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
- Line manage the cleaning team and ensure they are equipped to carry out their duties effectively
- Manage the opening and closing of the building, ensuring all necessary checks are completed
- Oversee the testing of all alarms and fire safety equipment, ensuring they are functioning correctly
- Regularly review and update risk assessments to ensure our premises remain safe and secure
Requirements
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and legislation
- Experience working in a similar discipline, such as handyman or janitorial services
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
