Job Title: Facilities Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Facilities Technician to join our team at Renishaw PLC. As a key member of our Facilities department, you will play a vital role in maintaining the day-to-day operation of our facilities, ensuring the smooth running of our buildings and associated mechanical plant.

Responsibilities:
  • Carry out mechanical maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide breakdown response and support for building and plant equipment.
  • Complete planned maintenance tasks to schedule, ensuring minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure requirements and timescales are met.
  • Take a proactive approach to the general upkeep of buildings and equipment, identifying and addressing potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Mentor apprentices to help further their knowledge and experience, contributing to the development of our future maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate records using our electronic maintenance recording system.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical qualification to NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose faults and administer repairs.
  • Broad mechanical skill set, including experience with HVAC system maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety practices and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Good standard of computer literacy and proficiency in using electronic maintenance recording systems.
  • Full driving license, with the ability to travel to various sites as required.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Forklift license and experience with IPAF 3a & 3b.
  • Basic carpentry and plumbing skills, with the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
