QA Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to join our team, responsible for ensuring the quality of our systems across various components. This role involves conducting QA activities in functional test environments, writing and executing test cases and scripts, and collaborating with the development team to resolve identified issues. The successful candidate will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining test automation suites, providing specialist expertise on automation frameworks and coding standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting End-to-End Testing: Performing system, regression, and UAT testing to ensure the quality of our systems.
  2. Automation Expertise: Building and implementing new automation scripts within existing frameworks, independently running automated regression packs.
  3. Support and Improvement: Supporting the automation process by improving scripts and suggesting areas for improvement, while also supporting the Agile testing process and attending daily stand-ups.
  4. Design and Creation: Designing and creating test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases.
  5. Manual Testing: Running and adding new scripts to manual regression packs independently.
  6. Reporting and Maintenance: Clear reporting of testing status through test execution and maintenance of testing script checklists to ensure consistency with new or changed functionality.
  7. Mentoring and Assistance: Mentoring or training junior team members and assisting senior QA engineers with the development of new frameworks.
  8. Defect Tracking: Documenting, tracking, and escalating issues as appropriate using JIRA or similar tools.

Requirements:

  1. Scripting Expertise: Demonstrating experience in building automation test scripts from scratch.
  2. Independence in Script Execution: Previous experience in running automation scripts independently.
  3. Business Acumen: Exhibiting a good understanding of managing business expectations by providing accurate estimations and time frames for test automation projects.
  4. Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team, fostering collaboration and contributing positively to team dynamics.
