Job Overview

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £48,500 per annum, plus excellent benefits. The successful candidate will also receive additional on-call payments averaging over £1,000 per annum. Holiday entitlement includes 30 days (inclusive of English Bank and Public Holidays), while the pension scheme offers 5% Employer Contribution/5% employee contribution. Life Assurance provides 2x annual salary coverage.

Job Description

This Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will be working as part of a team on shift, enjoying a varied workload that encompasses all aspects of engineering. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within FMCG or a similar production environment. A recognised engineering qualification and proven technical knowledge and experience are essential. Key skills include knowledge of automated processes, familiarity with the 18th Edition, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Shift Patterns

The shifts for this role follow an 8-week cycle: early morning shifts (6am-2pm), day shifts (8am-5pm or 9am-6pm), late shifts (2pm-10pm), and occasional weekends. Overtime opportunities are available, with Saturday rates at 1.5 times basic pay and Sunday rates at 2 times basic pay.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Previous experience in a similar position within FMCG or a comparable production unit
  • Familiarity with automated processes
  • A recognised engineering qualification
  • Proven technical knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of the 18th Edition
