Responsibilities
- Support Private Credit at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in EMEA, with a strong emphasis on transaction support and execution for debt deals.
- Work on a wide range of credit transactions, including mid and large cap leveraged finance deals, structured credit investments, opportunistic credit, and restructurings.
- Provide transactional advice during the life cycle of an investment, including structuring, negotiation of deal documentation, review of diligence, consideration of regulatory and reputational issues, and asset management support.
- Involvement in regulatory and other projects that affect the Alternatives business.
- Support the platform's ongoing fundraising activity.
- Extensive interaction with investment professionals and colleagues across compliance, tax, credit, and operations.
- Instruct and manage external counsel.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Good team player, dynamic, and capable of working proactively with initiative on a wide range of issues in a fast-paced environment.
- UK, US, or EU qualified.
- 1-4 years post-qualification experience; previous in-house experience (including on secondment) is helpful.
- European cross-border transaction experience also helpful.
- Acquisition/leveraged finance or restructuring lawyer with general banking experience (experience of financing structures across the capital structure helpful).
