Job Title: Procurement Strategist

Salary:£45,000 - £60,000 per annum

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Strategist to join our team in Rotherham. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for managing the effective and efficient purchasing of raw materials, packaging and ancillary requirements. You will provide hedging support, including executing trades with brokers and data entry onto our system.

  • You will assist with quarterly reforecasting on raw materials and packaging for the Finance team
  • You will work together with the Head of Supply Chain to develop a strategic raw material strategy
  • You will establish and maintain market maps detailing supply markets and key players for all major raw materials, packaging and ancillaries
  • You will manage raw material exposure within agreed company limits, working closely with the Commercial departments
  • You will comply with all Health and Safety and Environmental rules, policies and procedures
  • You will undertake travel both in the UK and outside of the UK when required
  • Negotiating, contract, organisation and good communication skills are essential
  • You must be able to think critically and express your views to enable contribution to overall purchasing and business strategy
  • Strong skills in word processing, excel and data entry are necessary
  • You should have significant purchasing experience, including strategic materials
  • A current Driving Licence is also required

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 years' experience in procurement, preferably in a strategic role
  • Excellent negotiating, contract and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
