About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon, working on the AWS Commerce Platform. This is a unique opportunity to work on a cutting-edge platform that enables AWS customers to purchase services and manage their infrastructure costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate highly available and secure systems.
  • Ensure the sanity of architecture, operational excellence, and quality, delivering results on time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across AWS and Amazon to deliver features that require leadership.
  • Focus on simplifying enterprise-scale commerce complexity.
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns on the team.
  • Regularly review architecture, code, test plans, project plans, deployments, and operations to drive excellence.
Requirements
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design.
  • Professional software development experience.
  • Leadership in architecture and design of new and current systems.
  • Recent experience in software development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
