Job Title: Deputy Head of Housing Reviews

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable housing professional to join our team as Deputy Head of Housing Reviews. As a key member of our housing department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a team of reviewing officers and managing a caseload of statutory and non-statutory reviews.

About the Role:

In this position, you will support the Housing Register and Reviews Manager by providing expert guidance and oversight to ensure that our review decisions are robust and legally sound. Your role will involve working closely with our multidisciplinary housing options service to share your expertise and contribute to the evolution of case law that influences homelessness services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee a team of reviewing officers and manage a caseload of statutory and non-statutory reviews.
  2. Provide expert guidance and oversight to ensure that review decisions are robust and legally sound.
  3. Work closely with our multidisciplinary housing options service to share expertise and contribute to the evolution of case law.
  4. Support the Housing Register and Reviews Manager in achieving departmental objectives.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  1. A detailed knowledge of housing legislation and an analytical approach to your work.
  2. Experience in performance appraisal and development, ensuring your team meets its objectives.
  3. Experience of collaborative working as part of a wider management team in a fast-paced, front-line housing service.
