About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Southampton. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group work support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans that meet the needs of students with diverse requirements.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being of students, promoting a positive school ethos and supporting their social, emotional, and academic development.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or psychology would be advantageous.
