Remote Insurance Follow Up - Revenue Cycle Specialist

We are a nationwide healthcare solutions company seeking dynamic and experienced professionals to join our remote revenue cycle team. We offer flexible work from home positions with a competitive pay and commission program.

Duties of the Job:

  • Process denials from insurance companies according to coding and specific insurance policies and procedures.
  • Process aging reports according to established client business office guidelines.
  • Stay current with assigned insurance company publications and be knowledgeable regarding policies, procedures and coding guidelines for insurance company/network for which the representative is responsible.
  • Research and handle insurance credit balances according to company and insurance procedures.
  • Handle daily correspondence from patients and insurance companies and respond appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • This position may require direct communication with providers/clients on status updates and information necessary for processing completed accounts for payment resolution.
  • Successfully assist in leading teams to meet defined goals and contractual obligations for each client.
  • Follow up on accounts by contacting third-party payers via website/telephone/mail for payment status, according to schedules of disposition/payer to be worked on given days.
  • Research, identify, and rectify any special circumstances affecting resolution of consumer accounts.
  • Gather information regarding other pending claims on accounts.
  • Contact third party payer to verify benefits and eligibility dates.
  • Update consumers' accounts in the system with any action taken or additional information attained.
  • Adhere to all established company policies and departmental procedures. Remain current on Federal and State regulations and statues that influence collections of receivables.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by managing supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • 2-4 years' experience in a medical environment with emphasis on collections, follow-up, and/or billing for third parties.
  • Medicare/DDE experience is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of all appropriate billing forms, including 1500 and UB04.
  • Ability to identify trends within claim denials to quickly resolve multiple claim issues.
  • Ability to take and follow direction.
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of collection procedures and governing laws applicable to the position.
  • Ability to learn new software as necessary.
  • The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
