KS1 Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate KS1 teacher to join our friendly and supportive team at a Birkenhead Primary School on the Wirral peninsula. The role is part-time for at least a term starting in January 2025.

Your New Role

As a KS1 teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons that meet the needs and interests of your pupils. You will also be expected to assess and monitor pupil progress, provide feedback and support, and work collaboratively with other staff and parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons for KS1 classes
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback and support
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and parents to ensure high standards of teaching and learning
  • Have access to excellent resources and facilities, as well as ongoing professional development and support
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • An enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience of teaching KS1 classes in a primary school setting, including ideally year 1 classes
  • Experience of Read-Write Inc phonics and the national curriculum
  • A creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn and grow
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
