About the Role
Xpress Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our client's team in a prestigious independent hotel in Scotland. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in overseeing the culinary operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen team, including Chef de Partie's, Commis, and Kitchen Porters
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the agreed standard and that cleanliness is paramount
- Contribute to menu planning and development, suggesting new and exciting dishes to enhance the hotel's food offering
- Engage in presenting and promoting new dishes to guests and staff
- Work collaboratively with the Head Chef to reposition the hotel's food offering and increase revenue
Requirements
- Hotel experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality food in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team, with excellent communication and leadership skills
- Passion for using the best produce available and preparing it profitably
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and nights
- Experience of working in hotel events and restaurant operations is highly desirable
