We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at AWE plc. As a key member of our EHSS team, you will provide expert guidance and support to ensure the health, safety, and security of our staff and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in line with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety best practices and emergency procedures.
- Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
- Level 3 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- IOSH grade of Affiliate, Associate or TechIOSH.
- Proven experience in a high-hazard environment, with a strong understanding of nuclear safety principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
