Job Title: Assembly Operative

Join G&H, a world leader in optical designing, testing, and manufacturing, as an Assembly Operative in our busy assembly department. As an expert in the technology of light, we work with customers to provide optical systems, assemblies, and components for demanding applications.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Pack finished products.
  • Clean production equipment and work areas.
  • Mix adhesives and prepare metal to optics bonding.
  • Bond optical surfaces together for substrates and laser protection filters.
  • Set optical sub-assemblies to the correct orientation.
  • Inspect Optics and Metal work to required specification.
  • Follow the MRB process for non-conforming parts.
  • Perform AQL inspection on some parts.
  • Ensure history card and other documentation is completed.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience of working in an assembly environment would be advantageous, ideally testing and inspecting work.
  • Used to working to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good with problem solving and results orientated.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good manual handling skills.
  • Flexibility and openness to working overtime when required.
