Curriculum Director English and Mathematics

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curriculum Director to lead the development of our English and Mathematics curriculum. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a clear vision for an inclusive, high-performing, values-driven curriculum that supports all learners to improve their use of number and language and to make significant and sustained progress towards achieving the GCSE level 2 standard in English and Mathematics.

The post-holder will oversee the English and Mathematics provision across the whole College, making a tangible difference to the lives of learners at the college. The post-holder will also be a valued part of the College's Senior Leadership Team, who work together closely to ensure that we continue to meet our learners' individual needs.

The ideal candidate will be a current or ambitious future leader who can demonstrate an empathetic approach, a sound pedagogical understanding of the art of teaching literacy and numeracy skills, and a broad range of experience in working with young people and adults across a diverse educational setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic development of the College's English and Mathematics curriculum.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of adult responsive literacy and numeracy qualifications in line with ESFA and WECA skills priorities, and the needs of South Gloucestershire and the surrounding area.
  • Be accountable for developing and implementing a well-planned and holistic English and Mathematics curriculum which supports the academic, spiritual, moral, social, emotional, and cultural development of students.
