Head of Geography Teacher Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Geography Teacher to join our team at a highly successful secondary school in Redbridge, Outer East London.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Geography department, teaching Geography at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and contributing to the school's mission to provide a high-quality education to students from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Geography department and develop a curriculum that meets the needs of all students
  • Teach Geography at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Contribute to the school's mission and values
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote academic excellence
  • Develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status and appropriate qualifications in Geography or related disciplines
  • Previous experience of holding a responsibility post in another school
  • Successful teaching experience across a range of key stages
  • The ability to motivate students and staff
  • Experience of working with pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
