We are seeking a Strategic Research Impact Development Specialist to join our Business Engagement and Research Impact team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with our academic colleagues to take their research impact to the next level.

The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to academics across the College of Social Sciences, ensuring they have the knowledge and guidance needed to facilitate, amplify, and evaluate their research impact.

This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, as you will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to develop and implement impact strategies. You will also lead on school-level collation and evaluation of impact-related metrics, preparing impact case study submissions for REF exercises.

In addition, you will support the strategic deployment of Impact Acceleration Accounts (IAAs) and other internal funds, developing a detailed understanding of the research landscape within the College and Schools.

If you have prior experience in a Higher Education institution and excellent written communication skills, we encourage you to apply for this role. Previous experience working in a knowledge exchange or research impact environment is desirable.

The estimated salary for this position is around £42,000 per annum, based on the starting salary range of £35,880 to £45,163. We offer a competitive benefits package and a supportive working environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with senior academic and non-academic managers
  • Proven ability to collaborate with academic, professional services, and non-academic colleagues to deliver mutual agendas
  • Excellent written communications skills, including experience of writing reports
  • Problem-solving skills, including the ability to act with limited supervision
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word
