About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Harrow, a leading provider of mental health services. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team in assessing and treating patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the MDT.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental state examinations and undertake appropriate investigations to inform diagnosis and treatment.
  • Participate in ward rounds and clinical audits to ensure high standards of care.
  • Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings, and attend hearings as required.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical governance and risk management strategies.

Requirements
  • Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified.
  • Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis.
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients, and write clear, comprehensive medical notes.
  • Committed to continued professional development.
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent.
