Job Title:

Academic Leader in Computing

Location:

Leeds, UK (ON-SITE)

Salary Range:

£28K - £55K/year (Based on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:

This is a full-time and part-time position only. The working hours are Monday-Friday or Wednesday-Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm or 12 pm to 8 pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in curriculum development and guide colleagues to ensure high teaching standards.
  • Collaborate with senior academics to lead initiatives for curriculum improvement.
  • Develop, manage, and review academic programmes within the curriculum area.
  • Assess and oversee colleague's work to enhance quality provision.
Research and Professional Development:
  • Engage in advanced research activities to contribute to the academic profile of ESL.
  • Participate in university/ESL research programs to foster innovation.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
  • Implement and monitor self-assessment processes to improve teaching standards.
  • Contribute to quality improvement strategies.
External Engagement and Partnerships:
  • Strengthen links with external stakeholders to enhance student experience.
  • Represent ESL at external forums to promote the institution's reputation.
Teaching and Learning:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across various programs in a Higher Education setting.
  • Tutor students and provide tailored support to achieve academic goals.
  • Develop module materials and assessments in line with learning outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral qualification in a relevant subject area (Senior Lecturer).
  • 4 years' experience in teaching at HE level in the UK (Senior Lecturer).
  • Master's degree in a relevant subject area (Min requirement for Lecturer).
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses at the Higher Education level.
  • Proficiency in utilising Blackboard/VLEs, MS Teams, and Zoom.
  • Native speaker of English or current IELTS 7.5 Academic Certification.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Teaching qualification such as FHEA or PGCHE.
  • Highly developed understanding of cross-cultural relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
