Job Purpose:
- As a Maintenance Quality Specialist, you'll be the focal point of shop floor Quality related matters, dedicated to eliminating poor Quality in manufacturing processes.
- You'll process Quality Control related documentation, inspect components, and develop quality awareness within manufacturing cells.
- You'll play a vital role in reducing Non-Conforming Components (NCC) and promoting quality ownership by reporting and communicating problems.
Responsibilities:
- You'll support the financial target by encouraging an awareness of quality and commitment to component manufacture quality related matters.
- You'll be instrumental in reducing NCC and promoting quality ownership by reporting and communicating problems and ensuring sufficient focus, support, and effort is made to resolve them.
- You'll confirm the dimensional integrity of components/sub-assemblies, review documentation content, and ensure process instructions are adequate.
- You'll assist in investigations to determine the root cause of discrepancies and provide on-line inspection criteria to prevent process drift.
- You'll measure work area quality by monitoring process capability, liaising with process validation, source substantiation, PPQ, and manufacturing teams.
- You'll support first article inspection requirements, key feature measurements, supplier surveillance, final inspection, and receiving inspections as necessary.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Process/statistical control, customer care skills, SAP, interpersonal skills, and process FMEA.
- 5 years minimum experience as an inspection technician/team leader/machine operative.
- Knowledge of Quality Control and inspection techniques is essential.
- Minimum of a time served apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 in engineering or equivalent qualification.
