About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Associate Director Building Surveying to join our team at Gleeds. As a key member of our Building Surveying team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of a range of building surveying services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer relationships and deliver high-quality building surveying services that meet client requirements.
  • Lead and manage teams working on building surveying projects, ensuring they are correctly fulfilling their project functions and providing mentoring and coaching when required.
  • Develop and grow customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and delivering services that meet client needs.
  • Manage building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations, and maintenance works.
  • Prepare and manage planned maintenance programmes, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Agree with the Director and Client the right sub-consultants to assist with delivery of a commission, following approved procedures for appointing Sub-consultants.
  • Communicate with clients and other project team members, providing good, sound, professional advice and ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue.
  • Ensure that all team members are correctly fulfilling their project functions, providing mentoring and coaching when required, and leading high-performance teams.
  • Prepare bids for services, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage service delivery for profit, ensuring that all services are delivered to a high standard and meet client requirements.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Associate Director Building Surveying who has a broad, in-depth Building Surveying experience post MRICS qualification. You will have a detailed knowledge and practical experience of delivery of building surveying tasks, sound knowledge of construction methods and materials, and comprehensive knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.

You will have the ability to administer construction contracts as Contracts Administrator and Employers Agent, clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts, and the ability to motivate others and lead high-performance teams. You will also have clear and effective communication skills, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to changes.
